Preview of Cortana and Alexa integration released

Integration of rival software and hardware is always good news for the consumer. It opens up more possibilities and prevents unnecessary hassle. Earlier this year Microsoft and Amazon jointly announced the integration of their two digital assistants; Cortana and Alexa. The two tech giants are searching for feedback before its fully rolled out to all devices, but it is available from today.

So, what does this mean for all your Alexa and Cortana devices? Echo devices can host Cortana and Windows 10 computers can now host Alexa. The process involves asking your digital assistant nicely; “Alexa, open up Cortana” and “Hey Cortana, open Alexa”. This is ,of course, in its baby steps at the moment and it will be a gradual process for the time being, especially as there are many devices to be integrated and deeper levels of functions to create.
